Melvin Leroy Jones, age 78 of LeGrande, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a truck driver his whole adult life and was part owner operator of JuJu and Mels Trucking for 12 years. He was a member of Immanuel Ministries.
He was the son of the late J.C. Jones and the late Mary Lou Judd Jones.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Charles Frodge, his four sisters, Frances Marie Jones, Margaret Branstetter, Elizabeth Cooper, and Jane Price; his four brothers, Ray Mitchell Jones, Andrew Murrel Jones, James Marshall Jones, and William Coy Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Turner “JuJu” Jones; his two daughters, Judy Frodge and Melissa Logsdon (David); his three sons, Kenneth Allen Trent II (Missey), Kevin Allen Trent (Neicy), and Kristopher Allen Trent (Becky); grandchildren, Joshua Mitchell Harp, Lora Beth Self (Joey), Gabrielle Matthews (Macky J Godfrey), Kenneth Allen Trent III (Maegan), Savannah Cary (Justin), Brooklyn Thomas (Calon), Keaton Trent (Kellee), Kohnner Trent, Kaleb Trent, Kase Trent (Liz Rocha), Kaden Trent; 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
The family will welcome friends from 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM CT on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM CT on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Trent and Bro. Earlene Branstetter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International. Donations may be left with the funeral Home.
