Melvin Lapp Obituary
In 1956, Mel founded Lapp Lumber Co. in Paradise. He owned and operated the mill until his retirement in 2014. Mel was an active member of Sandy Hill Mennonite Church, where he sang in the men's quartet. Mel was an avid Phillies fan. He enjoyed playing guitar, hosting family and friends and travelling extensively on motorcycle with Pearl all over the United States, including trips to Alaska.
Mel is survived by a son, Richard, husband of Linda Lapp and a daughter, Susan, wife of Sam Esh; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Jacob (Loretta) Lapp, and 3 sisters: Edna (Ray) Lapp, Barbara Kauffman, and Rhoda (Marvin) Smoker. He was preceded in death by a sister and 2 brothers.
A Funeral Service will take place in the WEST BETHANY CHAPEL at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Millwood Mennonite Church Cemetery, 441 Amish Rd., Gap, PA at 4:00 p.m.

Paul and I will miss our dear friend Mel. He was a true servant of the Lord and a wonderful friend both him and Pearl. We will always treasure the memory of them in our hearts until we meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God´s peace be with Mels siblings and Rich and Susie and their families.

Both him and Pearl were kind and loving people. Pearl was one of my
