Melvin Dell Marioneaux, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 1, 2025, at his residence in Port Neches, Texas, at the age of 89. He was born on July 21, 1936, in Plaquemine, Louisiana, to Alvin and Mary Marioneaux, who laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family, community, and kindness.

Melvin led a life replete with purpose and service. After proudly serving in the Army, he was the owner of B & M Electric in Groves and was an estimator for Stoneburner-Verret Electric Co. His commitment to his craft earned him respect and recognition within the community, and he was a valued member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #390 and Local #479 for over 65 years.  In 1974, Melvin took on the role of Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, exemplifying his dedication to the enhancement and betterment of the community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Melvin's heart resonated deeply with love for his family. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Sonnier of Port Neches, Jennifer DeMas and her husband, Jimmy DeMas, III of Port Arthur, and Dara Marioneaux of Port Arthur; as well as his sons, Rodney Marioneaux and his wife, Lillian of Port Neches, Damon Marioneaux and his wife, Lydia of Nederland, and Danny Marioneaux and his wife, Mary of Port Neches. Melvin found joy in the lives of his grandchildren, David, Chris, Jason, Damon, Jr., Laura, Jody, Jesse, and Michael, and took immense pride in being a great-grandfather to nineteen great-grandchildren.

Melvin was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61 years, Helen Knight Marioneaux, whose memory remains a guiding light for his family. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, kindness, and memories that will forever be treasured. He also reunited with his parents, Alvin and Mary Marioneaux, his brothers; Richard Marioneaux and Lester Marioneaux, and his grandson Cody Marioneaux, as well as his beloved dog, "Sam," who had brought joy into their lives.

Visitation will be held on November 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the same location. A graveside service will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
