Melvin Moore, 75, of Webster City formerly of Blairsburg died Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Williams Community Center in Williams. Burial will be at the Blairsburg Cemetery at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Melvin and his family.
Melvin Merle Moore, son of Ernest Floyd and Ruth (Whitter) Moore, was born December 26, 1949 in Sac City. He attended Crestland High School until the 11th grade when he enlisted into United States Army. On June 19, 1971, Melvin was united in marriage to Peggy Leon Riley at the UCC of Blairsburg. He served in the United States Army with the military police force for 21 years serving in Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Germany, Arizona and Colorado, retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Peggy of Webster City; son, Travis (Lori) Moore of Story City; grandchildren, Torri (Tanner) Doughty, Tiffany (Dylan) Kuhlemeier, Brayden Moore, Holden Moore; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Emerson, Tracy, Tatum; brothers, Floyd Moore of Wellington, KS and Ron (Kim) Moore of Webster City.
Melvin was preceded in death by his son, Tracy Moore; his parents; sisters, Karen Peterson, Beth Langner; brothers, Kenneth E. Moore, Gary Moore; sister-in law, Beverly Moore and brothers-in-law, Rich Langner and Don Peterson.
He had attended the UCC of Blairsburg. Melvin was a member of the Williams Legion Post #633. He enjoyed camping, golfing, watching sports and being with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Melvin's memory to Williams Legion Post #633.
