Melvin A. Muller, 89, Jamestown, ND died Sunday January 12, 2025 at SMP Health Ave Marie.
Melvin was born July 4, 1935, at Gackle, ND, the son of Gottlieb and Eva (Geinger) Muller. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and helped his dad on the farm.
He and Loretta Veil were married in 1960 at Gackle and made their home on the Jacob Veil farmstead and helped area farmers.
Melvin and Delores (Krieger) Gums were married September 30, 1977, at Gackle. They made their home in Gackle while he continued farming. Melvin did custom bailing for 23 years and drove Cenex Propane truck until retiring in 1999. They moved to Jamestown in 2019. Following the death of his wife, Delores, September 30, 2019, he continued to live at Edgewood until entering Ave Marie Village October 2023.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle and Gackle Coop Board.
He is survived by his daughter Kristie (Dan) Hermanson, Zimmerman, MN: 2 stepchildren, Rodney (Robin) Gums, and Rayette (Don) Brown, all of Jamestown, ND; 8 grandchildren, Tanner Hermanson, Ryan Hermanson, Karly Hermanson, Mike Gums, Amy Remboldt, Matt Walters, Chris Walters, Jason Gums, 7 great grandchildren; Alex Gums, McKenzie Remboldt, Sheena Walters, Brantley Walters, Emma Leigh Walters, Taylor Moser, Alyssa Gums and Brady Gums; 1 sister, Esther Maier, Wishek, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, 2 stepsons, Roger and Randy Gums, and 1 brother, Leroy Muller.
