Mel was one of my dad´s (Joe Deeks) best friends. The thing I´ll always member about Mel is his boundless energy and ability to make everyone he touched smile. He will be missed but I will think of him often and imagine him and my dad up there with front row seats to every high school basketball game they want. My deepest condolences to Ann and family.

My sincerest sympathy to the Nicewander family. I have a lot of memories from way back when. Mel was a great guy, I looked up to him. Prayers to you all for strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Love to all. RIP Mel
