Mentha Parsons McFee, 92, of Newland, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 at the home of her daughter.
A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Keener and America Franklin Parsons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy McFee who passed away January 24th, 2021; sisters: Dorothy Stout, Mary Wagner and Lucille Rose and a brother, Charles McDonald Parsons. Mentha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Surviving is her daughter, Cindy McFee of Weaverville; sons: Chris McFee and wife, Suzanne, of Spruce Pine and Gregory McFee; grandchildren: Wyatt McFee, Nyla McFee, Ronnie Wise, Marah Chelbezan, Heather McFee, Gary McFee and Liam McFee. Several other extended family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2nd at Yancey Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Robert Reynolds will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Sam Barrier, Wyatt McFee, Steven Queen, Ronnie Wise, Daniel Chelbezan and Gary McFee and honorary pallbearers: Leonard Clark and David Queen.
