Mrs. Meredith L. Emmot passed April 15, 2025. She was born December 18, 1934 in Alta Vista, Kansas, the daughter of Harley and Marcia Lower Andres. She moved to Topeka in 1943. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart, Homer Emmot in 1953. He was the love of her life and a great friend, as well. Four children were born from this union. She was a lifelong Methodist, the most recent church being the Oakland United Methodist Church. She worked for Security Benefit Life Ins. Co. for over 30 years, retiring in l997.
Surviving are her three daughters Chariss (Ralph, deceased) Duncan, Wichita, Jeanette (Stan) Sanger, Lawrence, Sondra (Douglas) Hamilton, Topeka and one son, Darel (Elizabeth) Emmot, Ft. Collins, CO; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer in 2011, two sisters, Margery Sadler in 1993 and Phyliss Andres in 1929.
Meredith was loved and will be missed by children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, coworkers and friends, long term and newly found.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Monday April 21 2025 Funeral services will follow beginning at 11:00 am, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Parker-Price and Davidson Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Interim Hospice, 1251 SW Arrowhead Rd, Suite 103, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
