Meredith Hart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins Funeral Home on Jan. 29, 2025.
Meredith Lynn Hart was born on September 25, 1979. On January 27, 2025, she stepped into God's glory.
A celebration of life will be held on February 1, 2025, at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Burnet, Texas. Interment will follow immediately after at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Matt Hawthorne, Lee Benton, John Owens, Robert Staton, John Paul Bryant, and Matt Marstallar.
Growing up in Georgetown, Texas, Meredith developed a love for both reading and basketball at an early age. Whether she was lost in the pages of a book or practicing free throws, Meredith found joy in learning and competition. These passions only grew stronger throughout her years at Liberty Hill High School where she excelled both academically and athletically. Graduating in 1998, she pursued her dream of playing college basketball at McMurry University. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Wesley, and the two built a beautiful life together over the next 25 years. Meredith completed her formal education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in both Kinesiology and English, graduating with Highest Honors.
Meredith had a brilliant mind, loved history, and wrote beautiful poetry. She enjoyed spending time in nature and summers at Camp Peniel. Her ongoing thirst for knowledge made her an excellent teacher and unbeatable trivia player. The greatest joy of her life was her family, homeschooling, and teaching her children about Jesus.
Meredith's life was marked by unwavering faith and complete trust in God's will. She built her strength on God's promises, no matter the circumstances. She radiated positivity and kindness and her joy was rooted in the unshakable love of Christ. Many sought Meredith's counsel because of her gift of listening, discernment, and wisdom. Meredith knew God's Word by heart and faithfully applied it to her life.
Meredith is preceded in death by her grandbaby, Gwyndolyn Hart, her grandparents Burle & Marilee Hawthorne, Jack & Helen Lowery; cousins Daniel, Timothy & Aurora Gilmour; and uncles Richard Gilmour & Craig Fariss.
Meredith is survived by her husband, Wesley Hart; children Payton Hart (Savannah); Sadie, Eden, Shepherd, Brigham, Banner, and Ransom; grandchildren Winnifred & Kieran Hart; parents Kelly & Trudy Hawthorne; sister Kate Benton (Lee), brother Matt Hawthorne (Melody), sister-in-law Ann Fowler (Keith); niece Kylee Benton, nephews Baze Benton & Hudson Fowler; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Those who loved her called her: Meredith, Mom, Mere, Sissy, Merna, and her beloved grandmother name, Marmee.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Camp Peniel in Meredith's memory.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
