Visitation for Meredith Martell, 35, of Marshall, will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. A celebration of Meredith’s life with sharing of memories will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the remembrance center. Interment will take place at the Marshall Cemetery. Meredith Martell was born on February 7, 1988, in Hayward, CA, to Kevin and Sherri (Roberts) Martell. The family moved to Marshall in 1998 where Meredith attended school. She lived in Balaton for a time and, for the last several years has been working as a cashier at Ace Home & Hardware where her customers were fond of her quick wit and positive attitude. Meredith was a strong woman with tenacity who overcame many hardships. She was very generous with her friends and family. Her life ended too soon on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, after a domestic assault in Marshall. Meredith is survived by her children Mercedes (18), Juan Jr. (17), Johnny (16), Jolee(13), Maria (8), Brooklynn (3), grandchild Giovanni (1), mother Sherri Fonseca of Nashville, IN, brother Collin Martell of Marshall, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Martell, one baby in infancy and her grandparents.
