Meredith Pearl Mock

MEREDITH PEARL MOCK was born March 6, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the late Henry Clay Bender and Sarah F. (Farley). She was raised and received her education in the Los Angeles community. She was united in marriage to Harold W. Mock on January 15, 1945, in Los Angeles, California. Following their marriage they resided in the communities of Cave Junction, Oregon, the Los Angeles area and retired back to Cave Junction. Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. on October 4, 1983 in Grants Pass, Oregon after celebrating over 38 years of marriage together. Meredith worked as a respiratory therapist at Rancho Los Amigos Pediatric Care Center in Downey, California for several years. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Among her special interests she enjoyed quilting, gardening, raising turkeys and chickens on her acreage in Cave Junction, listening to classical music and attending Church, and long walks on the beach. Meredith was also preceded in death by her parents, by her daughter, Trischa Irene Bellis; her sisters, Ruth Solinas, Elizabeth Jean Tillery; her brother, Clay Bender; her stepbrother, Bill Tillery. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Fred and Carole Mock of Covina, California; Stan and Maureen Mock of Pomona, California; Susan and Steven Douglas of Springfield, Virginia; Denise and Doug Dailey of Gaston, Oregon; and her sister, Henrietta Winters of Independence, Missouri. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests that remembrances may be made to the OHSU Alzheimer's Research Fund, 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Road, CR131, Portland, Oregon, in her memory.
