Merida Louise Whipple Wilcox of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed from this life on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 78 years.

A native of Winchester, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Louis Whipple and Annabelle Holder Reese. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Jimmy, Pam, Vanessa, and Rosie.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Church of Jesus Christ located at 1104 E. Lincoln Street in Tullahoma, Tennessee with Pastor Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Merida was a born caregiver and had the biggest heart. She was always helping someone or opening her home to someone in need. Everyone was always welcome and she always showed them love, kindness and compassion no matter what the situation. She deeply loved her church and her church family. Merida enjoyed cooking and watching Westerns on television. Her all-time favorite was Gunsmoke. She loved her children and grandchildren, and she will be highly missed and never forgotten.

Her survivors include her children, Stephen (Brandi) Wilson of Waco, Texas, James Wimley of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Tammy Wimley of Tullahoma, Tennessee, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
