Merle (Smith) Simonds / Allen, 74, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, March 27th, 2026 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born May 17th, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Merle Smith and Alpharetta (Connelly) Smith.
She is survived by her son, William “Billy” Simonds and her daughter in law Jacey Simonds of Germantown, Maryland; two grandchildren, Aiden Simonds and Colin Simonds; and a sister Alpharetta “Freda” (Smith) Hickman in Catonsville, Maryland.
In addition to her parents, Merle is preceded in death by two brothers, John “Eddie” Smith and James “Jimmy” Smith.
Merle loved music, singing and dancing. She was a drawer and did that in her spare time. She also loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family.
