Merna Joyce Meyer (nee Taylor), 94, of Huntington Beach, CA was born September 1, 1930, in Indianola, NE and died peacefully early morning on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Atria Memory Care, Newport Beach, CA, after struggling with Alzheimer's these past few years.

Beloved spouse of the late Wilfred (Bill) Meyer. She is forever cherished and remembered by her two daughters Karen Bertram and Cindy (Glenn) Mackey; and by her two grandchildren Aaron (Rachel) Bertram and Kelly (Chris) Vail and two great-granddaughters, Hazel and Piper Vail.

Merna grew up in Nebraska and Oregon. She met her husband Bill in Portland, OR and they were married for 58 years before Bill passed away in 2009. Merna loved working and worked most of her life in various jobs from school bus driver and bank teller to eventually finding her calling as a real estate agent where she met many lifelong friends. Merna and Bill loved spending time with their family and friends. Generosity and hospitality were their gifts.

Merna spent her final few years in memory care at Atria Newport Beach and the family was so grateful and blessed that she was being cared for by Atria's loving, supportive and skillful staff.

There will be a memorial service for Merna on Monday, November 24, at 10:30am at Heritage Dilday Funeral Home, 17911 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
