Metro Oleksa Obituary

Metro "Butch" Oleksa, 87, formerly of Macungie, died April 18, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of the late Thelma M. (Landis) Oleksa. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late Wasyl and Mary (Choban) Oleksa. He worked for Texaco for over 40 years, retiring in 1995 as plant manager. Metro is survived by his daughters, Donna J. wife of Glenn Greis of Macungie, Diane M. Derr of Northampton, and Sherry L. wife of Keith Paich of Lancaster; brother, Charles Oleksa and wife June of Allentown; grandchildren, Jamie L. Greis, Derrick Greis and wife Michelle, Nathan and Madison Derr, and Morgan and Matthew Paich; great grandchildren, Kylie, Courtney, and Preston; step great grandchildren, Alanna and Aeva. He was predeceased by a brother, John Oleksa. Funeral services will be held on Sat., April 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh St., Allentown, PA 18103.
