Mi R. Wright, a beloved wife, sister-in-law, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Manhattan, Kansas. Born on August 30, 1941, in Kangwon-do, South Korea, Mi was known for her caring and outgoing personality, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mi dedicated 15 years of her life to custodial services, retiring after a successful career. While deployed with her husband she worked for the Army and Airforce Exchange Service (AAFES) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were well known among her colleagues and friends.
On December 3, 1980, Mi married her beloved husband, Anthony L. Wright, in Tongduchon, South Korea, during his second tour of duty in the country. Their marriage was built on love, respect, and shared interests, including fishing, cooking, and maintaining a clean and inviting home.
Mi is survived by her loving husband, Anthony; her brothers-in-law, Marcus Wright and Artis Wright; and her sisters-in-law, Sandra Wright and Lori. These family members hold dear the countless memories they shared with her, from family gatherings filled with laughter to quiet moments that highlighted her warm spirit.
Mi was preceded in death by her father, Chol Ho Yi, and her mother, Ssi Song. Their legacy of love and values lives on through Mi's family and friends, who will continue to honor her memory in their hearts.
A graveside service will be held at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas on August 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with heartfelt remembrances to follow. It is a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose impact will be felt for generations to come.
