I knew Mike from grade school and later in our adult life he became the brother I never had and a roommate for a couple of months to my husband and I. You were genuine, down to earth, and you had the biggest heart. We miss and love you so much and your memory is what we hold close to our hearts. With love, Jade, Toney & kids

Mike and I met in 2017. He called the radio station I worked at after following me on Instagram because he wanted to see if I would work on his turntables after he saw my repair and customization work.

I couldn't believe the one and only "DJ MIKE D", whose mixes I had been playing for so long, wanted to meet me.

When I told him I was based out of Louisiana, he said it would be a good reason to finally visit the state because he had heard about the "good food down in Cajun country". We both laughed and had a nice chat about music, DJing, radio, and of course, I asked him for all of his mixes I didnt have yet, to which we generously provided me with everything he ever worked on.

We kept in touch over the years despite never getting the opportunity to meet in person. We shared more than just the fact we were both DJs, we shared a mutual love for music. I would get excited when Mike would release a new mix, and immediately add it to the radio mixshow playlists, as well as my own. If it came out that day, it was getting played before I left the station, no question about it.

Mike's love for music will live on through his mixes, and I will always think of him every time I pick up a pair of headphones.
