Michael Jonas Addison

ADDISON---Michael Jonas Addison "Uncle Monkey", of Lake Odessa, "…soared on wings like eagles" on Feb. 4, 2009 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital after a long courageous battle with his illness. Although Mike had many health issues, he worked diligently for the Lord through his smile, his music, and all around love for life. Adults and children alike drew from his relaxed confidence that all things work together for the Glory of God. These are the memories Mike leaves with anyone blessed enough to have come in contact with him. The family of Michael feels blessed to have had him their lives for 35 years. Those 35 years were filled with humor and laughter, cigar day breaks with Dad, fishing with his brother, deep discussions with his Mom, composing music, writing poetry from the heart, hours of video games with anyone who would challenge him, counseling about his personal miracles, and "Great Big Uncle Monkey Hugs." Left to rejoice in his memories are Michael's parents, Donald R. and Kathleen A. Addison; brother, Jeffrey Scott and Mitzi Ann Addison; two beautiful nieces, LinLee Ann and MaiLee Ann Addison; grandfather, Bradley C. Anderson; his dog, Jack; uncle, David and Ruthie Gorney; aunts, Colleen G. Hayes, Ileen and Rene Burca-Rodriguez, and Marsha and Ron Campbell; and numerous loving cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 from Noon until 2:00 PM, with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the funeral service at Cunningham Acres (1 ½ miles west of Lake Odessa on M-50) that is being provided by the Sebewa Church of God with assistance from friends of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Renucci Hospitality House, either through his parents or Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
