Michael Adriaanse

Michael Adriaanse, 71, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Born on February 11, 1955, in Morristown, New Jersey. Michael was the beloved son of the late Dirk and Joan Adriaanse. He grew up in Warren and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 1973. Michael later lived in Mendham before returning to Warren, where he spent most of his life.

Michael was known for his great personality and strong work ethic. He was extremely dedicated to his wife, his family and his business. Owner of D & M Landscaping, he partnered for many years with his father, Dirk, proudly serving families and businesses through out the Warren, Mendham and New Vernon.

Michael was a kind hearted person, with a memorable presence and an incredibly strong inner strength. He was one of a kind who will be dearly missed. If you were his friend, you knew it without question. He loved riding his motorcycle, watching TV, mowing lawns and hunting for treasures and trinkets. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Most of all Michael had a great love for animals and won awards for training them when he was younger. Michael had a spark about him and would give you a look that let you know exactly what he thought without saying a word.

Michael never missed a trick. He saw through people and loved them for who they were.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his brother Dirk "Butch" Adriaanse and his wife Kim Adriaanse; his brother Danny Adriaanse; his nephews Tyler and his wife Jillian, Spencer and his wife Emily, and Trevor and his fiancée Linda; his niece Tina; as well as his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, extended family members especially his sister-in-law Katherine, and many loyal friends who will miss him dearly and remember him fondly.

A memorial gathering will be held on a date & time to be announced at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey.

Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity or plant anything you wish in memory of Michael.

As Michael would have wanted, guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and casually-no formal attire needed-as we gather to celebrate his life.
