Michael Dean Allmond, lovingly known as Mike, was born on March 15, 1955, in Garden City, MI, and passed away on July 9, 2025. Throughout his life, Mike exemplified what it meant to be a devout Christian and a true child of God. He was an embodiment of kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A hardworking individual, Mike dedicated himself wholly to supporting his family and loved ones, leaving a mark of loyalty and genuineness in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Mike had many passions in his life. He enjoyed the exhilarating world of hockey and was an avid fan. In his backyard, one could find an oasis that was a testament to his dedication and love for gardening, where lush greenery thrived under his care. His talent extended into interior design, where he had a keen eye for aesthetics. Additionally, Mike enjoyed the experience of discovering nice restaurants, celebrating life's moments and milestones with family and friends over shared meals.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his devoted wife, Xiaoling Allmond, who was his partner in life and love. His memory will continue to resonate through his children: Virginia Liang, Whitney Allmond, and Nicholas Allmond, who carry his legacy forward, and his cherished grandchildren, Lucas Masel and Hunter Allmond, who were a source of immense joy for him. Mike is also survived by his mother, Joan Rogers, and his sisters, Merilyn King and Michelle Greybill, alongside many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will hold onto the beautiful memories they created together.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Coleman Allmond, and his brother Mark Allmond, whose spirits will also be remembered and honored.
The warmth of Mike's spirit is undeniable, and his love for family, unwavering faith, and genuine personality will be deeply missed. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and legacy during visitation at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, MI, on July 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at Plymouth Church of Christ on July 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
