Michael C. Antonacci, 87, of Moosic, died Friday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Dimelow Antonacci, who died June 7, 2018.
Born March 6, 1937, in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Charles and Irene Antonacci.
Michael proudly served in the Marine Corp and was stationed in Japan during the Vietnam era where he earned numerous medals and awards for his distinguished service to our country. He worked at Bethlehem Steel prior to retiring after 43 years as a manager from the Coca Cola Bottle Company, Pittston and was of the Catholic faith.
His hobbies included gardening, line and swing dancing along with polkas. He and his wife enjoyed attending local dancing events in the area together.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hospice of Sacred Heart for their kind and compassionate care to Michael.
He is survived by two sons, Michael and Joseph Antonacci; step-daughter, Christine Szymaszek and husband, Joseph; step-son, John Davis and wife, Beverly; granddaughter, Angelina Antonacci; and sister, Cathy Yurkoski.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sonya Morallia.
Private graveside services with full military honors will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp. at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Carbondale.

His burger king family will miss him . He was a pleasure to speak with . He spoke fondly of his family and enjoyed his bacon egg and cheese croissant. We were blessed to have known him . He will be forever missed.

To Mike's family, please accept my sincere sympathy in your loss. I knew Mike since I was a little kid, a friend of his sister Sonya. He graduated with my brother Edward, then they and my sister MaryAlyce reunited many years later polka dancing. I love the photo you chose.... I have a copy of that picture, part of my mother's photo collection of friends. She always appreciated his visits, long after he was grown. Mike was always such a good guy, who always had a smile. He will be missed by many.
