Michael B. Lindemuth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2005.
Michael Lindemuth loved carpentry and hoped to make his hobby a career after he finished with the Marines. "He loved his tools, had a quite a few of them. Those were his pride and joy," said Cpl. Cory Miller, who shared an apartment with Lindemuth. Lindemuth, 27, of Petoskey, Mich., died April 13 after being wounded by mortar fire at Camp Hit in Anbar province. He was based in Akron, Ohio. Lindemuth graduated from a Christian high school in 1996. He was on his second deployment to Iraq and hoped it would bring a promotion. "He pretty much had an upbeat attitude about going back," Miller said. Lindemuth was an outgoing and devout man who attended chapel services several times a week and loved sports, especially soccer and hunting. He was always willing to help those in need. "He was a remarkable young man who always knew what he wanted," said Brenda Nash, a former neighbor.

I just wanted to thank CPL
Lindemuth for his ultimate sacrifice. I have a metal arm band that I purchased after his death in his honor. Amazing how I was cleaning out a drawer today and found it. It will be 20 years on Monday since his passing. May God Bless him and be with his family and friend at this still difficult time. My brother was a marine stationed out of Camp Lejune NC during Vietnam. Unfortunately he passed from lung cancer in 2008 but he was one proud Marine!!! I have been a member of the American Legion for 32 years and continue to support our troops! God Bless you CPL Michael B. Lindemuth.

It has been 13 years. I am not sure if anyone still looks at this. My ex husband was in 3/2 with Mike. I spent many wonderful weekends with Mike. He was our family away from home. We were both older, as my ex graduated college before joining and I was in school. Mike and I enjoyed intellectual conversations, and religious ones as well. He even joined us on a couples getaway weekend because, well, he was family and it wasnt fun without Mike. I still post a photo each year for him and tell my daughter about him. She was born Jan. 2004. I truly wish he could have known her and she him. You raised a wonderful son. I think of him often. He was in our lives a short time but made a lifelong impact. Bless you.

I just found out about Mike today.. I knew him a long time ago. I met him back in Dec 1998. I was new to Petoskey, and he took me under his wing, I even attended a mother's day banquet with him mom and sister. Your whole family was such a blessing to me. When I had to leave Michigan that following December, he helped me pack and was one of the last people I saw there. We promised to stay in touch, but of course I had to move back to Oklahoma. I have often thought about him through the years, and tried to find him on facebook, now I know. He was such a wonderful guy, and he really helped me with my Faith. Bless him and your wonderful family.

I just read a post from yesterday on the Seal of Honor Facebook page honoring your son, Michael. I felt compelled to find out more about him on the internet and found a letter that a fellow Marine friend of his sent to you, talking about what an honorable and great man your son was, and how he shared the good news of our Lord and Savior with this Marine. I for one can safely say that your son has not only served his Country with honor, but has also served the Lord Jesus with honor by witnessing to his friend, and that guarantees him a place in eternity. I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for your sons service to our Country and my heartfelt condolences to you and the rest of your family and friends on the 10 year Anniversary of the loss of your son. God Bless Michael.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Lindemuth Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

Hey hon,

I miss you. I can't believe here, in less than 2 months, it will be 5 years since I last saw you. I'll never forget our last run to the store--and how you made sure to take a list of stuff your guys needed with us, before we left--always looking out for "your boys"--very proud of you!

I'll never forget the look on your face, and I can still picture our fingers hanging on for that last second, that last touch, before we had to depart.

I miss talking to you, laughing with you, and your outlook on life. So, just thought I'd stop by, and say Hi, and that I love you. You are always in my heart, and in those of all who knew you...

Miss ya, love...I hope that you're enjoying your time, swapping stories with the others now guarding Heaven's gates. Tell them we're proud of them, too, k? =) Happy (belated) 234th Marine Corps birthday!

Love you...

Hey Mike.
It's been four years since I last said good bye to you.
I'm sitting here today, on this day that we remember our fallen service members, remembering you. Each year, my son and I normally go with my father to place flags in the cemetery. This year, because we moved out of state, we did not do so. So, instead, I thought I'd remember you, your life and sacrifice in another way......by leaving a message here and saying thank you.
Thank you for your friendship, and for having gave all. We will never forget you, for you and so many others who have given all will be remembered through the things I tell my son.

It could use a master carpenter that is for sure. I built a Bar upstairs in it where you and the other guys hang. Cpl Lindemuth,
It has been a while since we have talked, to long I guess. I can still see you in the office at 3/2 Weapons Company. You were always ready to grab a rifle or a table saw. No one could touch your wood work that was for sure. I remember when you got the orders to Ohio, thinking you would be closer to home. We talked about how you could set yourself up on the outside once you were that close or shoot home easily for the holidays. I gues little did we know that they would be gearing up after you got there. I haven't been to 3/2 in a while but I know everyone sees the warpig wooden wall ball board in the back of the office. We have things to talk about, when I get a chance, keep guarding the gates and keep your eyes open for me you never know when I may be coming through. If I can get away tomorrow I'll be back.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

That you are round about me, I believe”

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Keep watch over those gates well, k? I know you and 'your boys' are doing one heck of a job standing guard up there. We miss all of you (especially your fellow 3/25 boys!) down here but we'll carry on, as you'd all want us to do, you inspire us all...

We may not have gotten the time here on earth to make it all 'official' but I know you're in my heart, always, and I know I'm in yours, forever...

I love ya, hon...

Your girl, always,

~Rachael
