Michael "Miche" Bernier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miche Bernier, 63, beloved husband of Steven Powell, and adored by family and friends. Miche passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. Born on April 24, 1962, in Rapid City, South Dakota, he was the son of Thomas and the late Carol Bernier.
He was a beloved and admired man for his hilarious sense of humor, presence, and unconditional love for those around him. Miche had a gift for making the world a brighter place with his quick wit and infectious laugh. He was known for his jokes and funny stories. Even in difficult times, his humorous nature brought comfort and joy to those around him. Beyond his humor, Miche was admired for his integrity, kindness, and devotion, possessing a spirit that drew people to him. He was happiest when out on a boat on Long Island Sound with his dog Bentley and his friends.
Miche is survived by his cherished husband, Steven; his father, Thomas Bernier; his two brothers, Wayne Bernier and Neil Bernier; and his dog, Bentley. Besides his mother, Miche was predeceased by his sister, Alison (Bernier) Pinckney.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life and a legacy of laughter and love on November 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m., and afterwards Miche's loved ones will be invited to share their stories and memories. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
