Michael Blacconiere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'ahu Mortuary on Jan. 14, 2026.
Michael Eddis Blacconiere, known affectionately as Mo, Mic, Mike, and Michael to his friends and family, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Michael was born on November 6, 1950, in Melrose Park, Illinois. He was a graduate of West Leyden High School, class of 1968.

Michael is survived by his wife, Ann along with his daughters Tina and her husband Matthew Snow, Nicole Dixon, and Michelle (with Julius Mendoza). He has 7 grandchildren: Madeline, Tegan, Emily, Zachary, Allyson, Riley, and Cheyenne. Michael is also survived by his siblings, Carm, Scott, and Jill. He is preceded in death by his mother Lorraine and father Carm Blacconiere.

He married Ann on July 22, 1978. Ann would say that he was a look-a-like to the famous singer, Mac Davis.

Michael and his brother Scott created and hosted the infamous Blacconiere Pig Outs in Steuben, Wisconsin, from 1980 to 1989. Many of his lifelong friends have fond memories of camp outs created and held on Memorial Weekends, which included canoeing down the Kickapoo River, a pig roast, music, games, and drinking. Michael had many talents: he brought many people joy by singing and playing his guitar (some songs included but are not limited to: "Margaritaville", "16 Tons", "Shaddap You Face", and "Last Kiss"), and he was a great cook who could make meals out of nothing.

In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling with his family and visiting places such as Disneyland, Wisconsin Dells, and Kings Island, to name a few. Michael thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of fishing- catching it, selling it, and eating it.

Michael was in the airline industry for over 40 years. He built a reputation at American Airlines and United Airlines as a highly skilled and respected mechanic. In 1990, he moved his family to Waianae, Hawaii to finish out his career. He worked hard for his family and was an experienced handyman. Michael taught his daughters how to work on cars and complete repairs around the house.

Throughout his life he was an entrepreneur with multiple businesses such as Wolf Towing Services, Mo's Tails, and Honolulu Horse & Carriage, to name a few. Some moments in which he was happiest were helping and greeting guests for Honolulu Horse & Carriage events, such as weddings, parades, and engagements. He was an ordained minister with Rose Ministries and officiated weddings for family and friends, uniting loved ones together.

Michael was a family man who was deeply loved and respected. As a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, he will be missed beyond measure.
