Michael Blaheta Obituary
Visitation for Michael Arthur Blaheta, 86, of Palatine, will be held from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The Funeral Service will begin at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 14, 2024, also at the funeral home. The Interment will be private.
Michael passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Michael has been married to his wife Janet (Lux) Blaheta for 48 years and has enjoyed raising their two children, Don Blaheta, and Kathy Blaheta.
Michael worked in numerous fields before settling into a position as a Software Engineer at Motorola for more than 35 years before retiring at 72.
Michael was quite active in his youth and especially loved skiing, fishing, and bowling. He was an active member of both the Nomad Ski club and the Motorola Ski club for many years. His love of skiing is how he eventually met his wife Janet through the Nomads.
Later in life Michael became an active member of Kiwanis of Palatine and even served as their president for a short time.
His family will always cherish the time they spent together and greatly miss his dry sense of humor.
