Michael C. Bleyaert

Michael C. Bleyaert, age 71, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Wellspring Lutheran Services, Monroe surrounded by his family.

Michael was born April 8, 1954 in Monroe, he was the son of Kenneth and Betty (Skidmore) Bleyaert. He married Lynda J. McHargue August 11, 1979 at the First Wesleyan Church, Monroe.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Monroe High School; he went on to earn his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Michigan State University.

He was a faithful member of Monroe Alliance Church, where he served as treasurer for over 30 years and was an elder for many years.

Mike was an accountant working for several Monroe area banks and La-Z-Boy before his retirement in 2015.

He enjoyed reading, golfing, studying the Bible, listening to music, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda; two daughters, Amy (Chad) Phillips and Lisa (Adam) Pursell both of Monroe; two siblings, Sherry Jones and Douglas (Trena) Bleyaert both of Monroe and five grandchildren, Cohen, Micah, Aliya, Henry and Juliet.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Mark Blake, pastor of Monroe Alliance Church, and Rev. J.D. Walker, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
