Michael G. Blinebry, 62, of Waterville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9 2024 at the Wynn Hospital, Utica. He was born on December 17, 1961 in Norwich, son of the late Howard L. and Betty June (Willcox) Blinebry. Michael grew up in North Norwich and attended Sherburne-Earlville schools. He was a graduate of Broome Community College. On a beautiful summer day, June 5, 1999, Michael married Patricia J. Horoszewski from Bainbridge, in the company of family and friends at the Broad Street United Methodist Church, Norwich.
Michael was employed for the last 28 years at Utica National Insurance Group as a manager in corporate claims support. He had a passion for golf and was a member of his favorite course, the Skenandoa Golf Club in Clinton, where on June 27, 2023 he proudly got a hole-in-one on hole #12. He enjoyed helping coach youth sports that his son was involved in. He especially enjoyed keeping the stats at Alec's high school football games. Being on the sidelines at those games with Alec brought him great joy. Mike was an avid sports fan, football and ice hockey especially. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Bruins. Mike also had a love of music, especially southern rock and blues rock. He was extremely knowledgeable of music that he enjoyed and was a fan of all types of good music and guitar playing.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife Patti and their cherished son Alexander (Alec) M. Blinebry of Waterville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Diane Horoszewski, of Bainbridge, a sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Glen Bagnall, of Sherburne, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve and Deb Horoszewski, of Port Crane, Deborah and Mark Howe, of Oxford and Mike and Patty Horoszewski, of Oxford; nephews and nieces, Mike and Colby Bagnall and their son's Nate and Sam, Tom and Dawn Bagnall and their son Jack, all of Sherburne, Dan Bagnall and his partner Franco Mirolo, of Buffalo, Jake Horoszewski and fiancé Lauren Tompkins of Port Crane, Ron Horoszewski of Oxford and Addison Howe of Oxford; his aunts and uncle, Dorothy Doing and Dorothy and Ed Smith, all of North Norwich, several cousins, extended family members and many very special and treasured life-long friends.
Along with his parents, Michael was predeceased by a very special uncle and aunt, Willard and Marian Blinebry, as well as his uncle Charles and aunt Charlotte Blinebry.
Friends are invited and may call on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480.
