Michael Bowen Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 4, 2026.
Michael James Bowen was a charismatic and loving soul known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, passed away on February 18, 2026. Born on May 12, 1952 in El Paso, TX, Mike's wonderful journey of life included a long and successful career in construction, but what mattered most to him was his family. Known as a source of joy and laughter, Mike's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Known for his active spirit, Mike was a golfer, skier and motorcycle enthusiast. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1970, attended University at Texas of El Paso, and was drafted 1972 and served two years in the U.S. Army. Mike also graduated from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business/Owner President Management Program in 1993. This was a testament to his determination and drive, traits that he carried throughout his life.

Mike became President of Bowen Machine and Fabricating Inc. in 1984 and led a successful career in construction working in industrial, commercial and pipeline maintenance. He also worked internationally for Chevron maintaining safety in offshore drilling in countries such as Kazakhstan, South Africa, and China. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Bowen and his grandparents. Though Mike has joined those who went before him, his love and laughter live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his ex-wife, Marcia Bowen, and his mother, Jo Paxson. He will be fondly remembered by his children, Shane Bowen, J.D. Bowen and Kodie Bowen. Mike's memory will also live on in his brother Rick Bowen, his sister-in-law Jeanette Bowen, his step-sister Jodie Bowen-Newby, his brother-in-law Dave Newby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We invite you to share your memories of Mike and celebrate the joy he brought into our lives. Please upload your photos and stories to Mike's memorial page, so we can all remember the love and laughter that defined this beloved man. His light may have left this world, but it will forever illuminate our hearts.
