Michael Andrew Brannam Sr.

Michael Andrew Brannam, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida died peacefully on September 14, 2022 at 79 years old. Mike was born on April 21, 1943 to the late Martin Alfred and Julia Rice Brannam. He graduated from Landon High School in 1961 and soon after married his high school sweetheart, Susan Lindsey Brannam. They have created a life and family together for 56 years.
Mike built his career in the financial services industry. His was successful because his clients became his friends and he considered them part of his family. After 52 years as a Financial Advisor, Mike retired in November of 2019.
As a lifelong Jacksonville resident, Mike spent many years giving back to our community. He was a longtime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and the Morocco Shriners. Mike passionately served as an active member, past Chapter President, and former Assistant District Governor of Rotary International. Mike proudly served in the Army National Guard of Florida. He was a past president of the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order and received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University. In the Fall, Mike could be found cheering on his Gators and Jaguars and in the Spring and Summer surrounded by his many friends on a golf course.
Mike had a big heart and was loved by many. His friends described him as "welcoming, "larger than life," and "authentic." He was always quick to include others and had many friends. He will be greatly missed.
Mike Brannam is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Susan Lindsey Brannam; his children Mr. Michael (Kelly) Brannam, Jr. and Mr. Patrick (Adrienne) Brannam; his six grandchildren Hailey, Mary Stewart, Jackson, Drew, Audrey and Caroline; his siblings Dr. Julia Ann Brannam and Mrs. Christine (Mose) Meide and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The Memorial service will be held at Mandarin Presbyterian Church, 2501 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223 on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. The family asks that anyone who wishes to make a donation in Mike's honor, please contribute to one of the following charities: Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Ronald McDonald House or Rotary International.
