Michael A. Bruening

Michael A Bruening left us on December 26, 2025 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 1530 Avenue “F,” Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Michael was born on October 19, 1964, in Crete, Nebraska, the son of Jerad and Emma Bruening. Michael graduated from Crete High School in 1983. Following his passion for firearms, Michael moved to Lakewood, Colorado, where he attended the Colorado School of Trades from 1983 to 1984, completing courses in gunsmithing.

After graduation, he relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where he began his career with MoneyMakers Gun Craft. Michael dedicated 31 years to the business, working there from 1985 until 2016. He then began working for Sam's Club before finding a position he truly loved with Company Kitchen, in October of 2017, where he delivered meals to daycare facilities, while continuing his gunsmithing work on the side.

For several years, Michael coached a girls’ soccer team. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing on pool teams, shooting at a friend’s place or at local ranges, and spending time with friends and family. Michael was known for his constant smile and sharp sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him.

Michael touched many lives, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
