Michael Bruist

Michael Bruist, 21 of Kokomo, IN – lost his life on August 17, 2012 in Cleveland, OH while looking for his dog with a friend. Michael and his friend were robbed at gun point where he was shot in the chest and died in the MetroHealth Medical Center. Michael was living in Cleveland, OH pursuing his passion for cars at Ohio Technical College for his certificate in Autobody Collision & Repair. Michael lived his life as an inspiration to others. Surviving a horrific car accident at age 18 that left him paralyzed, he was told he would never walk again. Beating the odds with strength and determination Michael danced ten months later at his Senior Prom. He was always known as the "Life of The Party" and refused to give that up; dancing to one of his favorites, "The Dougie". Michael will be greatly missed by his Father Gene Bruist, Mother Peggy Bruist, Sister Laura Bruist, grandparents, Robert and Ernestine Bruist, girlfriend Ashli Oliver, along with the rest of his loving family and tremendous amount of adoring friends. One of whom risked his life in an attempt to save Michael upon being shot. Memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, August 23, 2012, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at the mortuary.
