Hello from Salinas. My name is Marc Tunzi--Mike and I grew up in Spreckels and went to school together from K-8th Grade at Spreckels School. Ike was our Little League coach for a few years. And while I stopped Scouting early, my mother was out Cub Scout Den Mother until Webeloes. I fondly remember visiting Mike at home and eating Neta's cookies. And I especially remember Mike's winning essay after our 4th Grade class visited the Peter and Paul chocolate factory here (the sugar was from Spreckels, of course!). "The floors were so clean you could eat off of them," he wrote. I was trying to be clever. Mike simply wrote what he saw, from the heart.
