Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and giant amongst men in physical and spiritual form passed away at home on Monday December 12, 2022.
Michael Gordon Case was born July 31, 1943, in Coalville, Utah to Sarah Aleen Carlisle Case and Gordon John Case.
He grew up in Altonah, Utah. He attended Altamont High School where he played basketball and graduated in 1961.
He and his brother Sheldon (Pat) spent many summers in Woodland, Utah helping their grandparents Fred and Edith Carlisle on their farm.
At the age of 8 years old he instantly became the "Man of the House" when his father died from a heart condition while bearing his testimony in church. Since that day, dad spent his life leading and protecting those closest to him.
After high school, dad enlisted into the United States Air Force but was released due to a genetic eye disease. He then went to work for the US Forest Service which he loved.
In 1965, his mother accepted a teaching job in Salt Lake City, so the family moved to the big city.
Dad met mom, his eternal partner and best friend Patricia Ann Stephens in July 1963. They were married in the Logan temple on July 19,1965.
They were blessed with three children and raised their family in Sandy, Utah.
Dad and mom's unconditional love and support for each other over the years of many trials and tribulations is a true testament to their unwavering love and commitment to each other.
Dad attended the University of Utah, worked as a barber with his late uncle in the Rosepark area of Salt Lake City where he had partial ownership. He changed careers ten years later where he worked as a press operator and retired in 2008.
Dad always enjoyed the country life. He and mom had a vacation home in Bluebell, Utah for many years and moved to Scipio, Utah from 2016 to 2021. As dad's health declined, he and mom moved to Kempner, TX to live with their daughter Tamara.
Dad enjoyed anything to do with cars. He loved attending car shows, car collecting, and car races at the Bonneville Salt Flats with his son Cameron.
His love for cars and speed definitely rubbed off on the baby of the family as she too enjoys sports cars and has had her fair share of speeding tickets.
Although mom tried to keep dad's wild side in check, he too thoroughly enjoyed motorcycles and riding them until he was involved in an accident.
Besides his need for speed, he spent many years attending and enjoying the Park City Arts Festival.
Dad definitely had an artistic side. His handwriting was nothing short of a stunning piece of art running in perfect uniformity.
Dad developed a green thumb thanks to his mother. He spent long hours tilling, planting, and growing a garden which would make the average gardener envious.
Dad is survived by his sweetheart Patricia Ann Case-Kempner, TX, his baby brother Sheldon (Denise) Case of Heber City, UT, his two daughters- Marda (Lance) Miller of Lehi, Utah, Tamra (Lake) Cepull of Kempner, TX, 7 Grandchildren- Joshua (Nadia) Woods, Amber (Chad) Clucas, Charbrey (Jared) Wagstaff, Zachary Miller, Breeze (Adrian)Cepull, Dakota (Anesta) Cepull, and Tyden Cepull. 7 Great-Grandchildren-Karlee, Autumn, Zayden, Hadlee, Adilynn, Elias, and Halo.
Dad is preceded in death by his parents Gordon John Case, Sarah Aileen Carlisle, and son Cameron Michael Case.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Heber City Chapel located at 240 East 400 South Heber City, Utah from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM with a viewing from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. To watch the services online click on watch services tab above. A zoom account is required.
Interment will take place at the Altamont Cemetery (3700 North 16500 West) following the service.

Pat and Tamra,

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a gentle giant and will be missed greatly.

I find myself imagining the reunion he had with Cam, and I can't help but smile.

I'm praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Love you both! Families are Forever.
