WHITINSVILLE: Michael Casey, 51, died in Whitinsville on March 21, 2026, after a battle with diabetes and alcohol use disorder.

He was born September 19th, 1974 in Staten Island, NY to Gayle O’Brien and Michael Casey Sr. He lived there until age 13 when he moved to Uxbridge, MA with his mother, Gayle O’Brien, and his step father, Donald O’Brien.

He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Casey Sr, in 2012. He is survived by his mother; Gayle O’Brien, his children; Michael Casey III and Meighan Casey, his brothers; Kennedy O’Brien and his wife, Jane O’Brien, and Steven O’Brien and his wife, Kristen O’Brien, and his nieces; Eliza O’Brien, Zoey O’Brien, and Edy O’Brien.

In high school, he studied Electronics at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he met his high school sweetheart and the mother of his children, Gracia Kimball. Michael spent most of his free time in the garage with his friends, working on cars, and loved to go camping when he had the opportunity. Shortly after high school, in 1996, Michael and Gracia had their first child, Michael Casey III, and moved to Whitinsville to start their family.

As an adult, Michael was a metrologist by day and by night, a father to Michael and Meighan. He loved camping, fishing, boating, cooking, gardening, working on cars, and teaching the kids everything he knew. Over the years he attended many football games and dance recitals but what he loved most was eating a home cooked meal with “The Deadliest Catch” playing on the tv. As the kids got older he hosted many cookouts and pool parties and whether he would admit it or not, he always loved to cook for everyone. Later in life he became an empty nester and filled his time with a bright green 1969 Super Bee and a hive of honey bees. Michael will be remembered as a cereal hobbyist with a playful spirit who cared for his family.
