Michael Daniel Colao, born August 17, 1955, in Queens, New York, passed away on February 5, 2026.
Michael was raised in Selden, Long Island, by his parents, Aurelio and Maureen Colao. He graduated from Newfield High School in 1973. He later made his home in Port Jefferson Station with his beloved wife, Lena, where together they raised their two daughters, Danielle and Dayna.
Michael worked for Eastern Airlines before beginning a long career with the Suffolk County Water Authority, retiring in 2017.
Mike loved boating, camping, and hunting. And if there was a microphone in the room, you could be sure he’d be the life of the party.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lena; his daughters, Danielle and Dayna, and their husbands; four grandchildren; his mother; and his two sisters.
