Michael Coleman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millennium Cremation Service - Vero Beach on Feb. 17, 2026.
Michael L Coleman, 57, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away on February 11, 2026 at his winter home in Florida. He was born in La Jolla, California and grew up in Kingman, Arizona.
He was married to the love of his life, Karen Geil of Harrisonburg, Virginia, for 31 short years. He is survived by her and his stepdaughter Katie Cavey, and her daughters Charlotte and Olivia Cavey, also of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Mike was a US Army combat veteran and was very proud of his service to his country.
He led an adventurous life. While living out west, he was a boxer and a professional bullrider. Even long after he arrived in Virginia, he wore his blue jeans, boots, and black cowboy hat. He tipped his hat to women and addressed them as "darlin."
In addition to his wife, daughter, and granddaughters, the other joy of his life was music. Mike was a very talented musician. He was a guitar player and vocalist in a number of bands, including the local Springhill Boys, and treasured making music with his musician friends.
Mike was a warrior, a survivor, and a loyal friend and husband.
His life was celebrated on February 15 at a gathering of some his Florida friends, with tears, music, and much laughter. His ashes will be spread in his most memorable fishing spots in the Indian River in Florida.
He will be sorely missed. As in the lines of his favorite musician George Strait – "Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say, this is where the cowboy rides away."
