MICHAEL “MICKEY” CONSIDINE
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael (“Mickey”) Considine, aged 68, who died peacefully on Friday, 27 March 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Kansas City. Mickey was born in Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland.
Mickey had called Weston home for more than 20 years and was a valued member of the community, where he will be fondly remembered by many. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Emily (née Stump), formerly of Belton, who passed away in August 2024.
Mickey is lovingly remembered by his sister Deirdre, brother Turlough, stepson Garrett, stepdaughter Kira, granddaughter Taylor, sisters-in-law Anita and Jane, dear friends Bob and Lisa and by his extended family and many friends in Dublin, Oxford, and Missouri.
Mickey and Emily moved from Ireland to Weston in 2007 and spent many happy years together. They shared their home with their much-loved dogs. Molly came from Dublin with them, and was later joined by Paudie, Tootsie, Alfie, and most recently Gibbs. Mickey was often seen around the area in pursuit of Gibbs during one of his many escapes — a sight that brought smiles to many. Gibbs has since been rehomed with Garrett and Taylor (and Brodie), which would have been a great comfort to Mickey.
Mickey’s family is heartbroken by his loss. His siblings travelled from Dublin earlier this week and were grateful to spend time with him before his peaceful passing.
A private funeral will take place on Friday, 3 April. This will be followed by a gathering to celebrate Mickey’s life from 4–7pm at The Gamber Community Centre, 4 SE Independence Ave, Lee's Summit, MO 64063. All who knew Mickey are warmly welcome to attend the evening gathering; please contact Deirdre, Anita or Garrett if you wish to attend so that you can be included in the catering arrangements.
There will be no live streaming of the funeral service; however, a recording will be shared with family in Ireland at a later time.
Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, may be made to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137.
Always remembered, forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
