Michael Shawn "Copey" Copeland

Michael Shawn Copeland "Copey" of Melissa, Texas, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 52. He was born March 21, 1973 in Arlington County, Virginia.

Michael lived a life full of passion, laughter, and generosity. A chef by trade and by heart. He shared his love for food and creativity through his time teaching at Le Cordon Bleu in Dallas, Texas. His culinary talent and joy for cooking inspired many, and he carried that same enthusiasm into every part of his life.

In addition to his culinary career, Michael also worked as an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance, where his warm personality and dedication earned him the trust and respect of his clients.

An active member of his community, Michael was involved with both the Allen/Fairview Chamber of Commerce and the Anna Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching baseball and football-especially cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He loved entertaining and cooking for friends. Michael also enjoyed poker tournaments, and relaxing with a good movie.

Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, outgoing nature, and his ability to bring people together through food, laughter, and friendship. His legacy of generosity lives on through Michael's Meals and through all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Michael is survived by his sister, Debbie Estes and husband, Todd of Deland, Florida; niece Nadia Krebsbach; nephew, Trent Estes; life partner, Shannon Bunton; dear friends, Daniel & Kerri Cook; and a host of other cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Adrian Copeland.

Michael's Celebration of Life will be held November 22, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 at Profound Foods located at 163 Fountain Court, Fairview, Texas 75069.
