Michael E. Couch

Michael E. Couch, died at his residence, on March 6, 2009, after a courageous three month fight with lung cancer. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Couch. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 32 years; two daughters, Shannon Sherman (Josh) and Angela Yeagher (John); two beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Shaylee; his mother, Evelyn Couch; his brother, David Couch and family of Danville, VA; his sister, Jane Hardison and family of Lewisville, NC; two nieces, (Julie and Allie); three nephews, (Jared, Jonathan and Gabriel); and many loving, caring friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His hobbies were motorcycles, his rat rod, and spending time with his family. He was always tinkering with something in his garage with Matthew, talking with the neighbors, and with friends on the phone, and working on building his next project. He never met a stranger, and instantly made you feel like a good friend. He was currently employed at KW1, LLC for 12 years. Before that, he owned Beach Bugs on Va. Beach Blvd. He also worked for Lakeside Construction for 10 years. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 4:00 p.m., which would have been his 57th birthday, at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, at 1264 N. Great Neck Road, in Virginia Beach, VA by Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Please dress casually, as Mike would've wanted. His wishes were to be cremated and brought home to his family.
