Michael Cox Obituary

We have lost a father, son, brother, friend and one of the best fishing guides around. Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Cox; grandparents, Gilbert and Wilma Cox, Ed and Aileen Henson; nieces, Bryna Williams and Layla Cox; uncles: David, Jerry, and Terry Henson; step-grandparents, Charlie and Lottie McKee.
The ones left behind to miss his sense of humor, giving heart, and ability to tell the best stories ever: son, Jude Cox; mother and bonus father, Ann and Billy McKee; sister, Angela Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Jason Cox and Lindsey Matejcek; nephew, Zachary Williams; great nephews, Tristan and Liam Williams; great nieces, Amelia and Della Williams.
Rocky was very blessed with the best of friends and a great community of fly fishermen who helped him during his illness with generous gifts, visits, cards, and phone calls. He loved what he did for a living and took pride in his guiding and the meals he prepared. If you want to honor Rocky's memory go fishing with your dad, son, brother, or a friend.
A celebration of Rocky's life will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 4th at Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City. Private graveside services and interment will be in the Lenoir City Cemetery.

Rocky was our favorite fly fishing guide. We will always remember our time on the water together. We have a float trip planned for November 5 on the Clinch River and I am sure Rocky will be remembered frequently that day. We will most likely be envisioning him casting right along side us.

We are both so sad to learn this. First meeting Rocky as he guided me on the Holston River in early June, 2023. I was so impressed that we got together again on the Holston in early July, this time with my wife. We remember the fishing to be great, the smoked pork loin lunch and bean salad to be outstanding, and Rocky´s excitement for his upcoming fishing trip out west with his son Jude. Rocky also wanted to introduce us to the Clinch River.
On May 31st of this year, Jane and hooked up with Rocky on the Clinch. The fishing was awesome, the scenery just super, the smoked pork loin lunch and bean salad another fantastic meal, and the story of his ponytail.
We have fly fished all over the US and had many great guides but none as great as Rocky! We will now plant a tree in his memory and no doubt think of him each time we cast! I know God was a fly fisher!
