Michael Wayne Crawford

Funeral services for Michael Wayne Crawford, 71, of Tatum will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel with Brad Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy Chapel Cemetery. Michael was born on August 23, 1951 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Wayne and Wilda (McNary) Crawford and passed away on October 9, 2022. Michael married Vickey Burrows on April 2, 1988 in Lovington, New Mexico. Michael Wayne Crawford was loosed from his earthly bounds early Sunday morning straight into the arms of his Lord and savior. Mike loved Jesus, his family and his country. Mike's gifting from God was as a warrior; which led him to the army during the Vietnam war and then on to a long and fulfilling career as a law enforcement officer. He truly was the epitome of "laying your life down for others". Mike main interest and pass time was his sweet heart Vickey and his family. His children and grand-children were the light of his life he was know as "Oompie" by those near and dear to his heart. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and flint knapping.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne and Wilda Crawford.
He is survived by his wife Vickey; one son: Travis Flemmons and wife Justine; two daughters: Crista MacPherson and Krystal Harris and husband Brad; Thirteen grand-children: Jayden and wife Samantha, Grady, Audrey, Emily and husband Korbyn, Averie, BreeAnn, Alexandra and husband Ben, Lauryn, Samuel, Noah, Joshua, Zion, Selemon, and Eliakim; two great-grandchildren: Trystan and Aleise.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Lea County Right to Life.
