Michael Cromer Obituary

He was born on December 18, 1957, in Canton, Illinois, to Harold Waldo and Betty Joann (Mincks) Cromer. A 1976 graduate of Macomb High School, Mike was deeply rooted in the Macomb community. He dedicated 22 years of service to the City of Macomb, earning the respect and friendship of many along the way.
On June 3, 1978, Mike married Cheryl Ann Weiss at the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb. She survives, along with their two children: Karrie (Wes) Heaton of Davenport, IA, and Steven (Brittany) Cromer of Macomb, IL. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Cromer of Macomb, and four grandchildren: Mayson and Holland Cromer, Scarlet and Harvey Heaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pamela Amerine, and his grandson, Landon Cromer.
Mike enjoyed the simple joys of lifefishing on quiet days, playing ball with his children when they were young, and proudly cruising in his beloved 1969 Camaro. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and every Sunday at 3 oclock you would find him cheering on his favorite drivers. Above all, he was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family deeply.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Macomb Church of Christ. 850 W McDonough St, Macomb, IL.
