Michael “Mike” Dancik went home to be with Jesus on December 31, 2025. He was my brother, my best friend, and one of the greatest gifts God gave our family.

Mike was a strong and gentle leader whose life reflected a deep love for Jesus Christ. His faith shaped everything about him, how he treated people, how he faced hardship, and how he loved without condition. He had a servant’s heart and lived with humility, grace, and quiet strength. Scripture says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God,” and that verse describes my brother well.

Mike had a joyful spirit and a great sense of humor. He loved to see others laugh and had a way of bringing light into hard moments. He was a seeker, always pursuing a deeper personal walk with Jesus, and he encouraged me and others to do the same. His loyalty and faithfulness were unwavering. If you needed someone in your corner, someone who believed in you and saw the best in you—that was Mike.

He cared deeply about the little things. Mike remembered every birthday and important moment and made sure people knew how loved they were. He was a listener—trustworthy, patient, and wise. In my hardest seasons, he offered truth with kindness and reminded me often, “R.C., you are loved.” I always knew he was praying for me. Mike was an intercessor, and his devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ was evident in how he lived.

Mike loved the outdoors and found joy in nature and exploring new places. He had a passion for history and cared deeply about sharing knowledge, especially with young people and those who were underprivileged. He had a gentle heart toward animals and treated them with tenderness and care.

Most of all, Mike inspired me—to grow as a brother, a father, and a man. He encouraged me through busy and difficult seasons and was a steady rock in the storms of life. I could share anything with him without fear of judgment and always walk away feeling strengthened and loved.

Mike faced death with courage and peace, holding firmly to the hope that Jesus Christ had already won the victory. He fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. He longed for the appearing of Jesus Christ, and now he rests in His presence.

Mike is survived by his loving mother Nancy Antanaitis; father Richard Dancik; brother Christian (Heather) Dancik; niece Portia (Matthias) Varble; nephews Keegan Holley and Zeke Dancik; sister Laura Kathleen Antanaitis (Matt Virgil); nieces Eliza and Emery Virgil-Antanaitis; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Per Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Michael's life will be planned for June 29, 2026. Please see the family for details. In lieu of flowers, Michael wished that donations in his memory be made to the Summit MetroParks Foundation, to help preserve the nature he so loved to explore. I am proud to call him my brother who fought his fight and completed his course:

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day-and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

I love you, Mike, and I look forward to the day we embrace again.
