Michael David and Abby Lynn Evans, of Danielsville, Georgia, passed away together on September 23, 2023, at the young age of forty-four. Mike was born to David Michael and Sue Ann Evans on January 9, 1979, in McCandless Township, Pennsylvania. Abby was born to Steve J. Knezovich and Sharon L. Shelly on May 18, 1979, in Wheeling, West Virginia. Mike was well-known and loved in the car dealership business. He excelled at helping dealerships reach their utmost potential and earned many prestigious awards throughout his career. Abby was a friend to everyone she met and always willing to go above and beyond. She enjoyed crafting, carpentry, DIY projects, and gardening. Mike and Abby would have celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on October 2, 2023. They were high school sweethearts and rarely spent time apart. They were devoted parents and enjoyed spending time together as a family with their children and many dogs, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and relaxing down by the Tuckasegee River.
Mike and Abby are survived by their three children, Emily, Ian, and Olivia Evans.
Mike is survived by his parents, David and Sue Evans; brother, Jay Evans (Wendy); and 1 nephew. He is survived by his grandmother, Shirley Shisler, and Aunt Bev Purvis and Uncle Jay (Judy) several cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harry Shisler, and paternal grandparents Gloria and David Evans.
Abby is survived by her mother, Sharon, and stepfather Thomas Shelly, sisters Amy Beck (Kevin) and Alexis Jans (Lewis Barkley) and brother Andrew Knezovich; stepbrother Thomas R. Shelly (Jaime) and stepsister Alyson Shelly (Kane); Uncle Mike (Sandy) eight nieces and nephews and several cousins. She will be joining her father, Steve Knezovich, in heaven. Survived by stepmother Rita Knezovich and step-sister Jennifer Hansen. Abby was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, King and Viola Sayre; and paternal grandparents, Steve F. and Magdalen Knezovich.
Mike and Abby's families will host a Visitation on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 PM at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the ASPCA or Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue in Mike and Abby's names.
