Michael Joseph "MJ" DeLong

Michael Joseph "MJ" DeLong, age 58, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away on January 31, 2025. He was born on January 30, 1967, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to Robert Lee and Eunice Catherine (Wadle) DeLong. Michael worked as an environmental consultant with Mannik Smith Group, where he made significant contributions to his field. He had a passion for hunting, dogs, and race cars, which brought him immense joy throughout his life. He is survived by his two beloved children, Alexa "Lexi" DeLong and Trevor DeLong, as well as his sister, Theresa DeLong. He also leaves behind his former spouse, Tricia Sherman, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eunice DeLong. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, located at 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. A funeral service and burial will take place in Knoxville, Iowa.
