Michael Allen Dodgen

Mr. Michael Allen Dodgen, 71, of Morganton, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, following a period of declining health. Michael was born on May 16, 1947 in Gaston County a son of Mildred Bradley Cable and the late Charles Dodgen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the North Dakota DOT, where he was employed for over 35 years. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Dodgen. Survivors include his wife, Mary Stewart Dodgen , his mother, Mildred Cable, two daughters, Danielle Dodgen Morse and husband Timothy, and Dawn Dodgen and significant other, Neal Prescott, all of Minot, ND. Also surviving is one brother, Timothy Dodgen, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four stepsons, and one stepdaughter, and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Marvin Wiley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese. Interment will follow on Thursday October 11, at 12:00 P.M. at the N.C. State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain..
