Michael C. Donnelly

Michael C. Donnelly, age 74, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at his home on Monday, October 7, 2024. The son of the late Joseph and Jane (Taber) Donnelly, he was born on March 9, 1950 in Bay City. Mike was a member of the first graduating class from All Saints Catholic High School in 1969. He started work at a young age as a carrier for the Bay City Times for many years. After high school and college, Mike went to work at Made-Rite for many years, before moving on to Eagle Snack Foods – Fabiano Brothers, Nestle and then to Aunt Millie's from where he retired. His Catholic faith was of great importance to him, and he had been a lifelong member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church and was now a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish where enjoyed singing with the choir. Mike enjoyed deer and duck hunting, and all kinds of fishing throughout Michigan. He was a member of the NRA and most recently enjoyed competition shooting with the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation. Mike was a kind, good-natured man who truly cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
Mike is survived by his two daughters, Amanda (Edmund) Brown of Dayton, Ohio and Alisha Donnelly of Bay City; his special friend of several years, Virginia Dall; his six sisters, JoAnn Donnelly, Cynthia Donnelly, Mary Haarer, Lucy (Gregg) Peters, Rose (Tim) Yagiela, and Maureen (Louis) Taylor; three nephews, Patrick (Melissa) Yagiela, Ken Yagiela and Nicholas Taylor; his best friends, Tom and Peg Belland; and many other dear friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dave Haarer.
The Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish with Fr. Patrick O'Connor presiding. Visiting hours will be at Trahan Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 14th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m., and at the church on Friday, November 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
