St. Peter, MN - Michael Carl Dougherty, age 71, of St. Peter passed away on August 22, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Red Men Club, St. Peter, MN on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 4-8 pm. Michael will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter during a private family burial. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael was born on July 11, 1954 to Dorothy and Ray Dougherty, in Greeley, Colorado. Eventually, they moved to Minnesota and had two more children, Patty and Tim. They divorced. Later, Dorothy was married to Orville Ulrich of Le Sueur. Mike started school in St. Peter and later he attended and graduated from the Le Sueur School System. After high school he moved back to Minnesota and met and married his first wife. They had two children, Andy and Erin. Later, they divorced.

Mike and Kari married April 9, 1994. They continued to live in St. Peter and raised Jake. Mike was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. He enjoyed playing softball, darts, pool league, bowling, horse shoes, and golfing with friends.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kari; sons, Jake and Andy; daughter, Erin; siblings, Patty (Tom) Bittner, Tim (Linda) Dougherty; mother-in-law, Susie Koenck; sisters-in-law, Kim (Jerry) Cobb, and Kolleen Johnson (Steve Leonard); brother-in-law, Kurtis (Angie) Koenck; 5 grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, Orville and Dorothy Ulrich, father, Ray Dougherty, and father-in-law Loyal Koenck.
