Son of Frank and Margaret Souza Currier, 85, of Southern California- by way of Honolulu Hawaii-passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, and immediately started looking for Christine so they could finish their dance.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 16, 1940-nineteen years before the USA raised their 50th star-He married the love of his life, Christine Jane Baker Currier, and together they built something stronger than any span of steel: a family.
Michael D. Currier is survived by his three children and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his soulmate Christine Jane Baker Currier who no doubt met him at the pearly gates.
Michael Currier loved the ocean, a kind word and sharing helpful advice. He wasn't loud, but when he spoke, you knew his heart-usually because he was about to tell you exactly how his life experiences taught him a better path he hoped for you.
Michael was an island boy who grew up to shape the mainland skyline. A proud member of the California Carpenters Union, he spent decades swinging a hammer on the bridges and high-rises that still stitch Southern California together. If you've ever crossed the Vincent Thomas or marveled at a skyline with a downtown tower, chances are Michael had a hand in it.
A celebration of Michael Currier's life will be held Saturday – November 15, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, tell a tall tale, or just help somebody carry something heavy. He was a great father; Southern California and those who knew him stand a little taller because he was here.
