The family includes his son, Michael Engstrom of Nebraska, his daughter, Rose Sallee, and husband Chris of Afton; siblings Patrick Engstrom of Wichita, Kansas and Mary Ann Voutas of Topeka, Kansas, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Friends may share condolences on his webpage www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."

Went to high school with Mike. What a fun guy to be around. Always thought we'd maybe cross paths in Topeka but never did. I did see Mike on the local news a couple times. Seems he became an advocate for Father's rights. Watching him I felt he must love his children very much. Exactly the way I thought Mike would be. To his family I offer my condolences and prayers for your healing. May Mike rest in peace.
